Another fantastic resource!

You're making me run out of superlatives, Chip. :) Seriously, thank you so much for pointing me at this database and helping me to orient the Gibbons family. I also found a lot of other valuable information in the almost-done burials listings. They are just superb.

Family of Miles Gibbons

I don't have a familial link to Miles Gibbons and his wife Sarah of Eagle Lake/Wallagrass ca. 1860, but they lived next door to Thomas and Mary Ann Finn, to whom I'm related--and I suspect the Gibbonses were well-acquainted with the family of my gg-grandfather William Brown, too. Because the Gibbons...

Did you look into this on your recent visit to the Valley, Chip? I've been wondering what kind of records this parish might have and have never seen them made available thus far....

Best,

Thanks for sharing that info, Chip--Bridget is indeed connected to this line as well. Given extensive family lore about her and the concurrence of naming patterns, I speculate that she is the sister of Ellen Finn and Thomas Finn. She and her descendants are in my genealogical database, if anyone's i...

William Emmett Brown/County Mayo, Ireland-->Eagle Lake

I wanted to start a thread to encourage discussion about William Emmett Brown (1827-1897), who emigrated to Eagle Lake before 1850 and served as a key figure in town governance for decades. Family legend holds that he was a faith healer, and there are indeed news articles from the late 1800s statin...

Re: Finn family

If anyone is interested in knowing more about these individuals, I have extensive info on my database about them and their descendants/ancestors. Thank you, Chip, for extracting the Ste. Luce info and posting it here.

Eagle Lake-Wallagrass-Fort Kent families

Hi all! I'm a huge fan of Chip's efforts on our behalves and I'm glad to log in here and state my interests. My grandmother, Theresa Mary Pinette, was born in Wallagrass in 1896. Her mother was Elizabeth Mary Brown (whose parents were born in Ireland), and her father was Joseph R. Pinette (whose pa...
