The Settlement of the St John River Valley

Here is a chapter in a book about settlement in the St. John River valley. I scanned it quickly and it seems to be very general history without much mention of any names of individuals. Still there may be some info of value in it.

Chymullins,

OK. I would be interested in details about Thomas Cote and Marie Ann Yarrington and their children. Would you consider emailing this to me?

Source references would be very helpful also.

Regards,
James

Chymullins, Welcome to the forum. I'm sorry but I have no information on Thomas Cote. I had no spouse name for Mary Yarrington (which I assume is your Marie Ann). I do have a Marie Metaile Yarrington m. Geoge Wiles. I suppose this could be your Marie--perhaps she was married twice. Her first child w...

I have been informed that Maine already has a "Researcher Indentification Card." It is required to get into the vital records achives in Agusta, ME. You just have to fill out a simple form and pay a fee to get it. There are no qualifications. I do wonder if someone can get this card withou...

Sadly, the bill was signed into law on April 2, 2010. www.firstamendmentcenter.org/news.aspx?id=22811 There is no info on what one has to do to get a "researcher card." I could not find any info on when it goes into effect. I assume that means the the online record lookups will be taken of...

Rich,
Romain Charette (Charest) and Modeste Daigle, parents of Adeline Daigle
Hmm, wouldn't Adeline's surname be Charette not Daigle if Daigle was her mother's maiden name?

Reno,

I found a Rene son of Joseph on Rootsweb here:

http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin ... &id=I36347

Joseph has a brother named William.

The birthdate of Rene is 1911 which doesn't match with your date of 1920 but it is close.
