Ken Roy mentioned he thought some of the births in the St. Luce area berore 1843 were registered in St Basile. I have found an example. Marie Galenton (Yarrington), daughter of Isaac Galenton (Yarrington) and Catherine Nadeau is in the St Basile register. It is signed by H. Dionne. In Marie/Mary's d...

Sharon I don't know if this is the same John Harford, but there is a John Harford living next to a Nathan Baker in the 1810 census in (Million acres north of Solon and Athens), Somerset County Maine. From what I have read on Chips site, he thinks some of the Englsh settlers in Madawaska came from So...

Ignace White baptism

James, I believe Ignace is probably Patrick and Julia's oldest son Edward (Ned). He was born in 1857 and died in 1882 at the age of 25, according to his grave stone. It is located in the St. Louis cemetery in Fort Kent. It is likely there are two Patrick Whites and one lived in Canada and only came ...

Baptisms of english speakers

Glad to see baptism data base up and running. I hope this is the place to make this comment. I found a Jean Macfason. I believe him to be John McPherson son Charles McPherson and Adelaide Yarrington. God mother was Delina Yarrington. She was Adelaide's sister.

Edward Smith & Delina (Ellen) Yarrington

I have never met him, but I've been in contact with the grandson of Edward and Delina's son Edward. I have a subscription to Ancestry.com. Each of the census ask different questions. Among the questions the 1910 census asks is how many children has the person given birth and how many are alive at th...

I got my information in the Census from 1850 to 1930, my mother and Edward & Delina's greatgrandson Edwin. I also should give some credit to Chip. I stumbled on Edward and Ellen in Chip's 1850 transcription the way you did. I thought Crprian and Sophia were the same person but wasn't sure. In th...

I am not sure how Chip would prefer this to be done. This is how I'm going to do it, unless Chip tells me different. Delina and her sisters are Yarringtons. I'll post their information on the Y page. Information about her children I'll post here on the S page.

Delina(Ellen) Smith

The tree you referred to on Rootsweb is far from complete and has mistakes. My mother, whose name is Kathleen, appears as Patsy, daughter of William (Willie) White. He was ggrandson Isaac Yarrington and Catherine Nadeau. Willie's grandmother, Julia Yarrington was Delina(Ellen) (Smith) Yarrington's s...

St-Luce church marriages

Chip I've been talking to a descendent (grandson) of one of the Yarrington sisters (Catherine). He says sometimes the priest blessed unions if the couple were married in a non Catholic ceremony. He sites as a example his own parents who were married outside the church. The baptismal certificates for...

Ste-Luce

In your section on early marriages at Ste-Luce church, you state is was established as a parish in 1843. In some of the pop-ups you site St-Luce as a source for marriages that took place before 1843. The one of interest to me is Isaac Yarrington and Catherine Nadeau m. 1835 source Ste-Luce P. 164. A...
