I wanted to start a thread to encourage discussion about William Emmett Brown (1827-1897), who emigrated to Eagle Lake before 1850 and served as a key figure in town governance for decades. Family legend holds that he was a faith healer, and there are indeed news articles from the late 1800s stating that fact. His home served as polling place, schoolhouse, post office and, eventually, drugstore for Eagle Lake and Wallagrass.
I am gathering info on the numerous Brown descendant families and would be happy to hear from cousins who wish to add to that. Thanks!
