James' brother John came to the U.S. sometime after James and lived in several places before he moved to Van Buren. He lived on a portion of the Keegan farm that he bought from James (this farm was later owned by Peter Charles). John sold the farm back to James sometime between 1844 and 1848 and moved to Troy, N.Y. and lived in a house called Ida Hill where he died. The house passed to his son-in-law, a Campbell. John left several descendents there, Sylvester and John (both served in the Union Army during the Civil War), one girl married a Monahan, one married a Brody (both Monahan and Brody were from Ireland?), and the other girls remained single. That is all I know of the John Keegan line.
