All I have is Rene Rossignol b1920, son of Joseph b 1879.
I suspect he is the son of William b1847, but cannot find him anywhere.
Can some one help, please.

I found a Rene son of Joseph on Rootsweb here:

Joseph has a brother named William.

The birthdate of Rene is 1911 which doesn't match with your date of 1920 but it is close.
