I've just put online a newly found census of the Madawaska Settlement undertaken for the Province of New Brunswick in early 1840.

It lists names of land holders along the St.John from Grand Falls to the St.Francis, their place of origin, how long they'd lived in the settlement, and whether they were granted their land or held it ungranted. The census covers both sides of the St.John, including communities that are today in Aroostook Co., Maine.
