I am working on my husband`s Vaillancourt family from Quebec,Canada to Van Buren,ME. I have found many records of this particular family, but can`t seem to locate them in the 1850 or 1860 censuses of Aroostook County. They show up in 1840 & 1870.The family is Pierre & Modeste Thibodeau Vaillancourt (children all baptised in St. Basile). The son Damas was born 1835,married Anastasie Duplessis in 1861 in Van Buren. From there on,I have followed. Was there a section of the Aroostook Co. 1850 & 1860 censuses missing? Thank you for any info. |

Can you tell me where they are located in the 1870 census? |

Thank you for your response. Damas & Anastasie were living in Van Buren in 1870 with some of their first children. In 1872(your listing of St.Bruno),they were still in Van Buren.Earlier on in 1840,Damas` father,Pierre Viancour & family were living in Madawaska;Pierre was confirmed in 1844 St.Luce at about age 44.The family just seemed to disappear from 1844 to 1861! |
