MOTHER: Hortense Dube (later Boucher) b. March 27, 1847 Frenchville, d. April 10, 1919 Fort Kent
FATHER: ? Francois Xavier Boucher b. ? NB? d. ? Place? Marriage to Hortense?
On Joseph Boucher's Maine birth record which was created by affidavit only in 1940, it states he was born in Grand Isle, Maine. However on his marriage record of 1910, he states he was born in Green River, NB. I suspect the affidavit record was an imaginative creative work to prove US citizenship for purposes of Social Security. The witnesses recorded on this affidavit may possibly be his half-brother's wife's Aunts who hail from Van Buren.
I have Joseph and Sphronie's children, and have been in contact with a granddaughter. She has no more information about Joseph's roots, nor Hortense's marriage to his father than I do at this point.
Would appreciate any help on pinning down the birth of Joseph, and especially the marriage of Hortense Dube and his father, Francois and that person's birth and ancestors.
