François-Marie GAGNON was born about 1810, probably appeared on the 1831 census of Lower Canada in St-André, Kamouraska, Québec (p.261, line 11). ⁽¹⁾ He appeared on the 1840 US census in Madawaska South of the St.John River, Maine/New Brunswick.⁽²⁾ He appeared on the 1850 US census in Madawaska Plantation, Maine, as Francis Gorneo, age 40, farmer, owned real estate worth $400, born in Canada, living in household with Mary (45) and Melaga (17), Agle (16), Madone (14), Malazar (12), Francis (8), and Lucy (6) (p.157b, line 28). ⁽³⁾ He appeared on the 1860 US census in Township 18, Range 5, Aroostook, Maine, as Francis Gagnon, age 55, working as a miller, owned real estate worth $550, personal estate worth $350, living with Mary (59), Francis (19), and Lucy (15) (p.521, line 33.⁽⁴⁾

He was married to Marie DUVAL (daughter of Louis DUVAL and Geneviève BOIS) on 4 May 1830 in St-André, Kamouraska, Québec. ⁽⁵⁾ Marie DUVAL was born about 1805.

François-Marie GAGNON and Marie DUVAL had the following children:
