in 1781 in Abbey Lanercost. She was baptized on 5 Aug 1781 in Lanercost.
(22) She married Barnabus WAUGH of Walton parish at Lanercost
16 Nov 1811. (Witnesses were Thomas Boustead and Elizabeth Atkinson.) They
lived at Howgill (Burtholme), Cumberland. They had the following children
(with dates of baptism at Lanercost): Joseph, 12 Sep 1812; George,
14 Oct 1814; Mary, 6 Nov 1817. (Sarah may also have had a daughter
before this marriage; there is an entry in the Lanercost parish register for
the baptism of "Mary, daughter of Sarah Holme of the Abbey, illegitimate,
6 Jan 1804.")
iv. Elizabeth HOLMES was
born in 1783 in Abbey Lanercost. She was baptized on 10 Aug 1783 in Lanercost.
(23) She married Joseph NATRASS of Castle Carrock parish
on 3 Apr 1813 at Lanercost. (Witnesses were Thomas Hodgson and Jane Holmes.)
They lived in Abbey Lanercost until about 1814-15, when they moved to Harehill.
They had the following children (with date of baptism at Lanercost): Ann,
20 Jun 1813; George, 3 Nov 1816; Elizabeth, 29 Mar 1818; Thomas,
18 Jul 1819; Jane, 25 Jun 1826.
v. Jane HOLMES was born in
1785 in Abbey Lanercost. She was baptized on 30 Aug 1785 in Lanercost.

vii. John HOLMES was born

about 1793 in Abbey Lanercost. He was baptized on 1 Jul 1804 in Lanercost.

he was about 10.) He was a husbandman in Low Wall and Harehill, Cumberland.
He married Mary STEELE of Lanercost parish on 17 Jun 1820 at Lanercost.
They lived at Low Wall, then moved between 1822 and 1825 to Harehill (both
in Burtholme, Cumberland). They had the following children (with date of baptism
at Lanercost): John, 18 May 1822; Edward, 5 May 1825; William,
5 Jan 1828; Joseph, 28 Aug 1830.
ix. Thomas HOLMES was born
about 1792 in Abbey Lanercost. (The register notes that at the time of his
baptism in 1804 he was about 12.) He was baptized on 1 Jul 1804 in Lanercost,
Cumberland, England. (27)
x. Edward HOLMES was born
on 31 Mar 1794 in Abbey Lanercost. He was baptized on 31 Mar 1794 in Lanercost.
(28) He died on 1 Apr 1794 in Abbey Lanercost. (The burial record
in the register notes that he died at the age of 12 hours.) He was buried
