(50.) 1. Ignacy PAUTER was born 18 Jul 1852 in Biadki, Prussia (Poland).(1) He immigrated in 1883 to U.S.. He appeared on the 1900 US census in Chicago, Illinois, (2) listed as Ignatz Pauter, born in July 1853, age 46, married for 21 years, born in Poland (Germany), both parents born in Poland (Germany), immigrated to US in 1883, in US for 17 years, naturalized US citizen, working as day laborer, unemployed 7 months, could read, write, and speak English, owned his home with a mortgage, living at 1174 N. Leavitt St. with wife Josephine and son John (age 14), in same building with daughter Marie and son-in-law Roman Kledzik and their two daughters. He appeared on the 1910 US census in Chicago, Illinois, (3) listed as Ignatz Pauter, age 56, married 31 years, had had three children, two of whom were still alive [this should have gone after his wife's name], born in Germany (Polish), both parents born in Germany (Polish), immigrated to US in 1883, naturalized US citizen, could not speak English, spoke Polish, worked as a laborer, working on own account (not an employee), not out of work at all in 1909, could read and write, owned his home free of mortgage, living at 2137 N. Leavitt St. with wife Josephine.

He died on 20 Jul 1936 in Chicago, Illinois.(4) The obituary noted that he died at 11:40 a.m. at an advanced age (w podeszlym wieku). The funeral procession began at his home at 2137 N. Leavitt St. The funeral was held at St. Jadwig (Hedwig) church. The obituary was signed by Jan, son; Jadwiga, daughter-in-law; Sister Mary Teresa in the congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Name of Nazareth (Siostra M. Teresylla z Zgromadzenia Siestr Najsw. Rodziny z Nazaretu), grandaughter; grandsons and granddaughters, great-grandsons and great-granddaughters. He was buried on 23 Jul 1936 in St. Adalbert Cemetery. (The name is also spelled variously in different records Pauta, Pouter, Palter, Paulter.)

He was married to Józefa MAREK (daughter of Franciszek MAREK and Katarzyna PESTKA) in 1879.

(51.) Józefa MAREK was born on 19 Mar 1859 in Rozdrazew, Prussia (Poland). She appeared on the 1900 US census in Chicago, Illinois, (5) listed as Josephine Pauter, born March 1859, age 41, married 21 years, had given birth to three children, two of whom were still living, born in Poland (Germany), both parents also born in Poland (Germany), immigrated to US in 1883, had been in US for 17 years, could read, could not write, could not speak English, living with husband Ignatz and son John (age 14) in same house with daughter Marie, son-in-law Roman Kledzik, and granddaughters Marie and Margarett Kledzik. She appeared on the 1910 US census in Chicago, Illinois,(6) listed as Josephine Pauter, age 50, married 31 years, born in Gemany (Polish), both parents born in Germany (Polish), immigrated to US in 1882, not naturalized, could not speak English, spoke Polish, could read and write, living at 2137 N. Leavitt St. with husband Ignatz Pauter.

She died on 21 Jul 1930 in Chicago, Illinois. (7) Her obituary notes that she died at 9 a.m., after a long and ponderous illness, in old age (w podeszlym wieku). It is signed by her husband Ignacy, son Jan, daughter-in-law Jadwiga, brother Jan Marek, grandsons and granddaughters, great-grandsons and great-granddaughters. Her death certificate gives the cause of death as "carcinoma of the right breast." (29) She was buried on 24 Jul 1930 in St. Adalbert Cemetery.(8) The funeral procession began at her home, 2137 N. Leavitt St., to the church of St. Hedwig, then to the cemetery.

Ignacy PAUTER and Józefa MAREK had the following children:
