5714. Guillaume COUTURE (3873) was born about 1617 in St-Godard, Rouen, Normandy, France. He died on 4 Apr 1701 in Hôtel-Dieu, Québec. He was a carpenter (maitre-menuisier). Originally a carpenter (maitre-menuisier), Couture in 1640 was "given" to the Jesuit missionaries and went with them on the mission to the Hurons. Captured by Hurons in 1642, held captive three years, learned natives' customs and language. Released in 1645, acted afterward as interpreter. Ten children, six sons, one of whom, Louis (b.1654) left for trip to Mississippi and never heard from again, and four daughters. He was married to Anne ÉMARD (AYMARD) on 16 Nov 1649 in Québec-ville, Québec.(3874)

5715. Anne ÉMARD (AYMARD) was born in Oct 1627. She was baptized on 22 Oct 1627 in St-André, Niort, dioc. of Poitiers, Poitou, France.(3875) She died on 17 Nov 1700 in Lauzon, Québec. She was buried on 18 Nov 1700 in Lauzon, Québec.(3876) Children were:
