ELEVENTH GENERATION

1894. Captain William GOODHUE (1602) was born in 1645 in Ipswich, Mass.. He died on 12 Oct 1712 in Ipswich, Mass.. "Like his father, he filled important offices in the town, deacon of the church, selectman, representative to the general court, and he seems to have been connected with the trainband, hence gained the title of captain. A respected and useful man, he protested against Governor Andros' measures of taxation, and for this offense against the dignity of that tyrannical executive he was fined and committed to prison. He was well possessed in lands and goods and made comfortable provision for his children." He was married to Hannah DANE on 14 Nov 1666. (1603)

child vii. John GOODHUE was born on 28 Aug 1681 in Ipswich, Mass.. He died in 1685 in Ipswich, Mass..

child ix. John GOODHUE was born on 12 Aug 1685 in Ipswich, Mass.. He died on 7 Jan 1773. He married Anna Cogswell in 1712.
