6010. Julien FORTIN (4117) was born about Feb 1621 in Vair, Mamers, dioc of Le Mans, Maine, France.(4118) He was baptized on 9 Feb 1621 in St-Cosme-de-Vair, Perche, France. He died on 10 Aug 1692 in Hôtel-Dieu, Québec. (4119) At age of 29 goes to port of Dieppe for passage to Canada, after 3 month journey at sea, arrives in 1650 at Quebec. 26 Dec. 1650 purchased 5 arpents of land "de front" at Ste Anne de Beaupre; sold it to Robert Caron 27 Mar 1654 for 500 livres. 23 Aug 1657 becomes partial owner of the seigneurie of Beaupre on the Ile d'Orleans, bought from Charles de Lauzon-Charny, lieutenant de la Nouvelle-France. Devant Rouer de Villeray, he buys this part for 700 livres, payed in beaver skins. 11 Feb 1662 resells it to Mgr. de Laval for 750 livres. June 4 1659 gets concession of 6 arpents de front by une lieue et demie depth at Cap Tourmente, today called Coteau-Fortin. Lived their through 1681 census, in 1667 with two servants. He owned 8 arpents of land and 7 bestiaux a l'etable. He lived at St. Joachim until his death. He also owned lot 149, 12 arpents by one and a half lieue at Petite Riviere in Charlevoix, purchased 12 Mar 1685. 6 Oct 1661 was witness, deposition about atrocities of Iroquois. He signed a marriage contract on 23 Oct 1652. He was married to Geneviève GAMACHE-LAMARRE on 11 Nov 1652 in Cap Tourmente, Québec. (4120)(4121) Presided over by Fr. Ragueneau, SJ, ceremony attended by Nicolas Gamache (Genevieve's father), Sieur Le Tardif, Louis Gagné, and notary Claude Aubert. The marriage contract had been signed at the Toussaint house in the same place, on 22 Aug 1652 before notary Claude Aubert.

6011. Geneviève GAMACHE-LAMARRE(4122) was born about 1635 in St-Illiers, Mantes-la-Jolie, dioc. of Chartres, France. She died on 5 Nov 1709 in L'Islet, Québec. She was buried on 6 Nov 1709 in N. Dame de Bonsecours, L'Islet, Quebec. Children were:
