TWELFTH GENERATION

2062. Paul VACHON ⁽¹⁶⁴²⁾ was born about 1630 in LaCopechagnière, La Roche-sur-Yon, dioc. of Luçon, Poitou, France. He died on 25 Jun 1703 in Beauport, Québec. Paul Vachon crossed to Canada about 1650. As a mason he helped construct the chapel and sick room of the Hotel-Dieu de Quebec. 14 Jun 1655 he's given land concession in the bourg of Fargy, seigneurie of Beauport; this original amount is doubled nine years later, Dec 1664. 1667 census showed he owned 7 betes a cornes and 20 arpents defriches. Fourteen years later, census shows 35 arpents of value, 13 betes a cornes 1 pistolet and 2 fusils, also a 61 year old servant. His main profession was as notaire seigneurial. Around 1658 he was procureur fiscal of the seigneuries of Lirec and Ile d'Orleans. 10 Nov 1667 he was named by Mgr. de Laval as procureur fiscal and notaire in the seigneuries of Beaupre and Ile d'Orleans, which he kept until his retirement in 1693. Died in 1703 as part of an epidemic of "Spanish flu" that killed also within 6 months time three of his children. He was married to Marguerite LANGLOIS on 22 Oct 1653 in Québec-ville, Québec. ⁽¹⁶⁴³⁾

He died on 7 Mar 1729 in Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Québec. ⁽¹⁶⁴⁸⁾ He was buried on 9 Mar 1729 in Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Québec. He was a PRIEST in Québec-ville, Québec.
ii. Marguerite VACHON was born on 1 Sep 1658 in Québec-ville, Québec. She was baptized on 27 Oct 1658 in Québec-ville, Québec. ⁽¹⁶⁴⁹⁾ She died on 24 Jun 1703.
iii. Vincent VACHON was born on 15 Feb 1660 in Québec-ville, Québec. He was baptized on 19 Feb 1660 in Québec-ville, Québec. ⁽¹⁶⁵⁰⁾ He died on 3 Dec 1716 in Beauport, Québec. ⁽¹⁶⁵¹⁾
iv. Louise VACHON was born on 25 May 1662.
v. Marie Madeleine VACHON was born on 13 Aug 1664 in Beauport, Québec. ⁽¹⁶⁵²⁾ She died on 18 Feb 1703.
vi. Charlotte VACHON was born on 12 Sep 1666.
vii. Noel VACHON was born on 12 Jan 1669 in Beauport, Québec. ⁽¹⁶⁵³⁾ He died in 1699.
viii. Pierre VACHON was born on 31 May 1671. He died on 17 Jan 1703.
