David Gardner (Esther Gardner's father): Where's he from?

David Gardner came from Scotland, ended up settling in Rivière du Loup. He was married to Elizabeth Forrester.

Where did he come from? Why did he come to Quebec?

Gagnons to Washington State

Sometime in the second half of the 1880s Louis Philippe Gagnon, son of Antoine Gagnon and Hortense Dionne, moved from the valley out to Washington State. He seems to have stopped first in Vermont, where he married Julie Glouga in 1854.

Does anyone know why he made this move?
