1. Philippe GAGNON was born on 12 Jul 1848 in Frenchville, Maine. He was baptized on 12 Jul 1848 in Ste-Luce, Frenchville, Maine. (32) His godparents were Thomas Gagnon and Adèle Dionne, and he was baptized by Fr. Henri. Dionne who noted in the parish record of the baptism that the godparents did not know how to sign their names [source: Ste-Luce parish register].

Philippe appeared in the 1850 US Census in Madawaska Plantation, Maine, as Phillip, 2 years old, born in Maine, living with parents Anthony and Octan. (33) He appeared in the 1860 US census in Township 18, Range 5, Aroostook, Maine, as Philip Gagnon, age 12, living with parents Antoine and Ortans Gagnon.(34) At the time of the 1870 census Philippe is no longer living in the household of his parents in Frenchville.

He was married to Julia Ann GLOUGA (daughter of Peter GLOUGA and Julia CARON).(4) Julia Ann GLOUGA was born on 30 Jan 1854 in Waterville, Vermont. She appeared in the 1870 US census as a domestic servant, living in Lamoille County, Vermont [source: 1870 US census, Vermont, Lamoille County, Roll 1621 Book 1, Cambridge Precinct, Page 64b, Line 20].

Philippe and Julia appeared in the 1880 US census, with son George, living in Fall River, Bristol County, Massachusetts. Philippe was working as an apothecary [source: 1880 US census, Massachusetts, Bristol County, Roll 525 Book 1, Fall River Precinct, Page 465b, Lines 28, 29, and 30].

They appear in the 1900 US census, living in Worcestor, Mass. Philippe is working as a druggist [source: 1900 US census, Worcester County, Roll 697 Book 2, Ward 7, Page 207a, Lines 64-68].

In the 1910 US census, Philippe is living with son George in Tacoma, Washington State, and is working as a druggist [source: 1910 US census, Pierce County, Roll 1664 Book 1, Ward 3, Page 333b, Lines 56-61]. In the same census, Julia is living in Stanswood, Washington State, and is listed as head of her own household, and under "occupation" is listed "own income". She is living with her daughter Grace.

Philippe GAGNON and Julia Ann GLOUGA had the following children:

Julia Ann Glouga died on 18 Nov 1915 in Prosser, Washington.

Philippe appeared in the 1920 US census living in Seattle, Washington, living as a lodger in a house, and working as a Clerk for a Druggist.

Philippe GAGNON died in 1922 in Stanwood, Washington. Both Julia and Philippe were buried in Stanwood Cemetery.
