15. Antoine GAGNON (32) was born on 17 Dec 1844 in Frenchville, Maine. He was baptized on 18 Dec 1844 in Ste-Luce church, Frenchville, Maine. His godparents were Henri Dionne and Salomee Miville Deschenes, his maternal uncle and maternal grandmother, and he was baptized by his godfather, Fr. Henri Dionne, who noted that the godmother did not know how to sign her name. (64) Antoine was not included in the 1850 US census; he is not listed with his parents and siblings, and was apparently missed by the census taker (his family appears in Madawaska Pltn., p.153b).
Antoine appeared on the 1860 US census in Township 18, Range 5, Aroostook, Maine, as age 15, living with parents Antoine and Ortans Gagnon. Philomène MARQUIS was born on 14 May 1845 in New Brunswick, and was baptized at Ste Luce on the same day.
